Friday was spent at Bishop Middleham and Wingate quarries in search of Northern Brown Argus at the former and Marbled White at the latter. While the sun shone a couple of NBA and a few Brown Argus were seen near the entrance to quarry. As soon as the sun went behind a cloud, the only butterflies to be seen were Ringlets. It was a similar situation at Wingate while the sun shone (briefly) I saw at least three Marbled White when it didn’t shine the only butterflies I saw were, once again, Ringlets plus a few Meadow Brown.
