Moths

Here are a few images of moths from both our garden (first eight) and out and about.

Star of the show from the garden so far a beautiful Elephant Hawk Moth.

Long-eared Owl

A great night with the LEO. It was around dusk when one of the owls showed up so most of these shots have a high ISO setting so are rather noisy.

It literally flew right in front of me in beautiful evening light.

It caught what looks like a Vole and came straight toward me.

Checking me out

I was about to put the camera away when it landed in a bush not far away.

Kibblesworth

I had another look around Bowes Valley Nature Reserve a couple of days ago. There were a few more Dragons around this time.

Burdon Moor

I had a walk around Burdon Moor the other day in dry but windy conditions. The wind was champion for the Swifts but it proved difficult to get pictures of them. The apparently resident Stonechat pair have now had chicks, which is great.
