From the Staiths…

…to the Baltic and back. We started Monday morning with breakfast in The Staiths Café at Dunston followed by a walk along the banks of the Tyne to the Baltic Centre. The Kittiwakes on the Tyne Bridge are always great to see but especially so when they are raising chicks. There were no Peregrine on the outward leg from the Staiths but on the return leg from the Baltic, one was sitting in its usual spot on the bridge.

A couple of Sparrowhawk flew low over the bridge as if checking out the Peregrine. The Peregrine looked up briefly then shut its eyes as if it wasn’t bothered.
