Day one saw us start our
holidays in Connel just outside Oban. It was at Oban we looked for Black
Guillemot. There were a few around in the bay and I managed to get some shots
of them swimming around and out on the rocks. Also got our first sighting of
Hooded Crow
Day two was spent in and
around Craignure. Oystercatchers and Common Sandpiper were brooding eggs and
rearing chicks in the bay near the cottage were we were spending our holiday.
Day three and it was
White-Tailed Eagle we were after. Good but distant views were had as the eagle
perched up in one of the conifer trees then took off and flew over the
hillside. A Gold-ringed Dragonfly landed near the car while we were watching
the eagle. It was on its last legs and looked to be bent and broken, as it
never moved while I took this shot. More Oystercatchers and Common Sandpipers
in the bay near our cottage.
