The female Sparrowhawk was in the garden three times yesterday however she didn’t catch anything. On her third visit I managed to get some images of her. She was so close on this visit she was sitting on the outside windowsill of our conservatory then from there she jumped to the patio table. The first two images are taken through two lots of double glazing however when she flew from the table into the tree, I managed to get into the conservatory without her seeing me got the door open and got some better images. I’m sick of not being able to drive however my knee is getting better every day so hopefully I’ll be out with the camera before long.

…been out with the and there’s not much happening in the garden except for a few insects.
I think the first three images are of a Large

caught a fly.

From the garden
Since my knee operation I haven’t been anywhere with my camera except the garden and it’s thanks to my wife that I have anything at all. She was the one who spotted the Sparrowhawk sitting on the chair, found the first ever Shieldbug in our garden and watched with me as a young Blackbird was getting fed. The only things that were not taken through double glazing are the insects.
The female Sparrowhawk has been back in the garden. This
was taken through two lots of double glazing (kitchen and conservatory) and she
was sitting in the rain.
I moved into the conservatory to try and get a little
closer.
However, as soon as I did she flew into
the tree.
My first ever Shieldbug in the garden is a Hairy Shieldbug.
Not sure what this is but unfortunately it is the only
image I was able to get.

Scotland June 2023
22.06.23 While we were staying at Lettoch Beag we visited Argaty Red Kites. We did the same last year only last year I forgot to take my camera with me (I was without my camera for the whole of the week we were in Scotland). Last year we had, in my opinion, a better view of the feeding station and if I had had my camera with me, I would probably have come away with some better images. Don’t get me wrong I’m reasonably happy with what I got this year but I think I could have done much better.
