Norfolk part two.

 A visit to Hickling Broad was a must while we were in Norfolk for Swallowtail Butterfly. We were over the moon to see at least three as a Swallowtail is a first for me. There were loads of Southern Hawker and Brown Hawker flying around but only the former stayed still for any length of time. As well as loads of Dragonflies I have never seen as many Gatekeeper Butterflies in one place. When we got back to the cottage we went for a walk and I found some other photo opportunities’.

A farmer was cutting his field with a combined harvester and before it got chewed to bits this Brown Hare did a runner 

Then stopped to have a look around. It’s only a shame I had the wrong settings and lens on the camera.

Norfolk part one

 Just back from a week in Norfolk. It will take me ages to go through all of the images on my external hard drive but here are the first few.

Gatekeeper Butterfly from just outside the cottage we were staying in.

I heard a noise coming from the garden behind me while I was taking pictures of the Gatekeeper, I turned and saw this Muntjac Deer walking up the road away from me.

Work

 A few images taken over a couple of days at work this month.

One of at least three Tawny Owl chicks that were sending Jays ballistic. This was one of two I managed to get pictures of but, as I said, I heard at least three altogether and I also saw the adult bird flying off.

A second chick. I was taking pictures of insects so I had a 105mm macro lens on the camera when I got these images of the Owls so wrong lens and all the wrong settings on the camera.

One of three Puss Moth Caterpillars. In this image it has what look like red streamers at the rear.
