First Blog of the year

I have been for a few exercise walks during this present lockdown both on my own and with my wife. On this walk however it is the first time I have carried my camera. I only had the 300mm lens with me as the 500mm is far too heavy to carry any distance (not that I went very far). I’m pleased I took it with me as this is what I got.

I also managed a few flight shots of both male Pheasant

And female Pheasant

LEO

Easily the best encounter with a Long-eared Owl ever, it was made even better with the addition of my first Ring Ouzel, Wheatear and Redstart of the year.

Redstart

Kestrel landing on a fence post (spoilt by having twigs partially obscuring it)
