A visit to Shibdon Ponds this morning to see the Greenshank, a good but distant view was had. It was the same with the Ruff good but distant view. Slightly closer was a Snipe and a Stock Dove. It was then onto Far Pastures to “snipe” the Kingfisher which flew in then straight out and not a picture to be had while I was there. In fact the only birds seen where Little Grebe (no sign of any chicks) and a couple of Moorhens. The water level is very high so no waders, I wish I had stayed at Shibdon at least it was good crack in there.
