…Thornley Woods and Far Pastures with my wife a few days ago. We only went to Thornley so we could have a coffee and bacon sandwich in the woodland centre (I told her how reasonable it was and she insisted on going). The only images I got were of a Roe Deer. It was raining when we arrived at Far Pastures so we stayed in the hide. Here is what we saw.
Roe Buck at Thornley. It had just got up to have a bit
of a stretch
And a clean then it lay back down.
Snipe at Far Pastures.
Two Snipe.
I like the comparison in size between the Greylag and
Snipe it shows how small the Snipe is.
Little Grebe.
It caught a few fish while we were there.
Heron.
Female Tufted Duck.
Male having a preen.
These Mallards seemed to be the best of friends one followed
the other where ever it went.
