14.04.24 It wasn’t only Redpolls and Siskin that were using the small pool up on the Durham Moors to get a drink, Crossbills were also using it.

14.04.24 It was great to see that the Pied Flycatcher had returned to its regular nesting site up on the moors although I only saw the male the female has also returned. Redpoll and Siskin were coming down to drink from a puddle at a popular site which nearly always has photo opportunities.

This female Kestrel was hovering not far from the road
so I pulled over to get a couple of shots.

14.04.24 Another local walk around the village a good few days ago. The Little Owl was even closer and so was the Roe Buck which made photographing a lot easier. I also got my first local Hare of the year.

This Wasp was waiting for me on the window sill when I
got back home.
