Durham Moors Part 2

A couple of pairs of Wheatear were also up on the Durham Moors as well as the usual Red Grouse and Meadow Pipit. Red Kites were hunting over the Moor and beetles were crawling over the walls.

Durham Moors part 1

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I had a drive up onto the Durham Moors in search of Pied Flycatcher and Redstart. We found the former in good numbers but unfortunately not the latter.

One of the many male Pied Flycatcher we saw.

Another male.

Female.

This Mistle Thrush was going mad with something but I couldn’t see what.
