Stonechat & Kestrel

 I have once again tried to get the Stonechats at Burdon Moor catching insects and the resident Kestrel did not disappoint, putting on a canny show.

These first few rubbish images show a male Stonechat catching what looks like a Silver Y Moth.

However, he did not appear to like it very much

Because he let it go.

The Female had no such qualms when she caught what looks like another Silver Y Moth

She swallowed it down.

Male Stonechat

Having a good scratch.

He then proceeded to try and catch more insects.

The Kestrel showed well.

 Here’s hoping I have the identification right on these ones however, please don't hesitate to correct if i'm wrong.

Garden Moths part one.

 Once again, I have had the moth trap out over a number of nights for the past couple of weeks. I have not had that many moths in the trap but I have had some decent ones. Here’s the rub some I have not been able to identify (looking at them I thought it would be easy) despite looking through both of my books and on line, part one are those not yet identified (but i'm still trying).
