The Dales part three

25.11.23 a few more images of the Short-eared-Owls from Teesdale.

Collision course.

As I said n my earlier Blog there was a lot of chasing going on.

A Kestrel watches the antics of the Owls from a wall.

Then the Kestrel and one of the Owls have a coming together moment.

The Dales part two

25.11.23 Teesdale in search of Short-eared-Owl and at last some images. At least four owls were seen out hunting and there were lots of disputes taking place as you will see. I took so many shots of the Owls that I have put together two Blogs.

There was a lot of chasing going on.

One of the owls caught what looks like a Vole.

I was hoping it would land on a nearby wall to eat it.

However, it landed in the grass instead.

Kestrel sitting on a wall minding its own business.

However the Kestrel took exception to an Owl sitting on its wall.

The Owl took no notice.

So the Kestrel flew off and it came right in front of my car.

The Dales part one

25.11.23 first stop the Durham Dales in the search of Crossbill which I’m pleased to say on this visit my wife and I found some. There was a small flock of around a dozen mixed with a small flock of Siskin and Goldfinch high up in the pine trees.

Crossbill.

Siskin.

Goldfinch.
