Work

A few images taken over a couple of days at work this month.

One of at least three Tawny Owl chicks that were sending Jays ballistic. This was one of two I managed to get pictures of but, as I said, I heard at least three altogether and I also saw the adult bird flying off.

A second chick. I was taking pictures of insects so I had a 105mm macro lens on the camera when I got these images of the Owls so wrong lens and all the wrong settings on the camera.

One of three Puss Moth Caterpillars. In this image it has what look like red streamers at the rear.

In this image they have gone.

A second Puss Moth Caterpillar.

A close up.

The next few image are of the instar of the Common Green Shieldbug.

Insects etc.

02.06.22 This is part two of my short walk to a small pond that I am keeping an eye on for Dragonfly (not found any yet). As I mentioned in part one it was only around two hundred yards in total but I bet I spent a good two- or three-hours taking pictures. Once again please feel free to correct me on my identification.

Twizell Woods part one

18.05.22 (still way behind) A visit to Twizell Woods for Broad-bodied Chaser did not disappoint. There were loads of other insects and bugs too so I made the most of it hence part one and two.  I know I wright this every time but if I have any identification wrong, please correct me.

A male was patrolling the ponds and obligingly posed for me.

This newly emerged chaser literally landed right in front of me and I could not resist.
