 A trip to Kibblesworth Brick Ponds at the end of last month looking for Dragonflies. Black-tailed Skimmer, Emperor and Four-spotted Chaser all put on a good show and there was a canny supporting cast of butterflies, beetles etc.

This Emperor Dragonfly flew back and forth trying to protect its patch from all threats.

However, this Four-spotted Chaser had a good go at chasing it off.

 A visit to Twizell Woods near to the end of last month didn’t produce any dragons or damsels but it did produce some canny insects.
