Little Owl

Once again on home patch and a few images of my local Little Owl jumping, flying, and posing in the rain. 

I think it was so used to me being there it just sat and looked at me while I was underneath it.

Sitting in one of its favourite trees.

It thought it would get a better view from higher up.

Nibbling at a branch.

Doing what comes naturally. 

It then flew to another of its favourite trees.

Busy sitting.

It took off again

And landed on a post. Its got eyes in the back of its head.

If you don’t look too closely it’s nearly sharp.

Last of the Little Owls part 2

 

This is the second of the two blogs and the last one of the owls for a while. It was drizzling on this morning and the owls were doing something that I have never seen before. All four seemed to be having a shower, washing themselves to get rid, I presume, of the fleas and ticks that they may have had on them. It was fascinating to watch one of them show another how to do it (well that’s what it looked like it was doing to me). The shapes they were getting into looked, at times, comical. It was a privilege to watch them doing something I have never seen before.

Last of the Little Owls part 1

I thought that it was a family of three owls that I have been watching but in fact it’s a family of four. I took so many pictures of the them on this particular day I have had to split the blog into two parts as I cannot decide which ones to leave out.
