I haven’t been to Chapman’s Well Nature Reserve for a while so last month I thought I would put that right. However, a short walk to the pond produced only a couple of dragonflies and a couple of butterflies and not much else but it was still nice to be out in the fresh air and at some point, I will go back for another look around.

Ruddy Darter, I think this my first of the year.

Another visit to Twizell Woods to visit the ponds and this time the water levels were a little higher which was great to see. Good numbers of dragonfly, damselfly and butterflies around the ponds made it a canny afternoon out.

Hairy/Sloe Shieldbug. This is one of only two I saw.

I had a visit to Twizell Woods the other day to see if there
were any Migrant Hawkers around unfortunately, they weren’t. I did however get
Southern and Common Hawkers and a single Ruddy Darter. The day after I went too
Far Pastures as I have not been for a while, the only thing worth photographing
was a Shieldbug.

| She came a little closer but had her back to me. I moved to get a better angle but she must have moved at the same time and I did not see her again. |
