Around and About

I try to get out with my camera most days to different locations (now that lockdown restrictions have eased). However when I do I take far too many pictures, here are some them.

What the well-dressed Meadow Pipit is wearing this season.

However, these two Meadow Pipits did not read the memo.

Some welcome and…

…some not so welcome garden (if you are a bird) visitors. Please correct me if I have any of the identification wrong.

The Sparrowhawk got another Starling in the garden.

We have a pair of Blackbirds nesting in our hedge here is the male with food for the chicks.

I am not good at identifying bees but I think this one and the three below are Mining Bees.

Carder Bee.

White-tailed Bee?

Buff-tailed Bee?

Another Carder Bee.

I have had the moth trap out again here are some of them. Early Grey Moth.

This one and the three below are all differently marked Hebrew Character Moths.

Common Quaker Moth.

I tried my hand again at trying to catch Hoverflies hovering.

The weather has been…

…so good lately I have been out with my camera nearly every day so I am way behind with the editing of my images (who wants to sit in front of a computer when they can be outside). Here are some images from a few days ago.

I thought at first this Skylark had a bit of dirt on its beak but on closer inspection, it’s a Weevil.

Willow Warbler

Another Willow Warbler from a different location.

Chiffchaff

Long-tailed Tit

Singing Wren

And a singing Dunnock.
