Lamesley

 I’m still way behind but here are a few of the birds I saw from a fairly recent visit to Lamesley.

I don’t know why but I wouldn’t normally bother with Woodpigeons but these kept me entertained for ages.

If this male is trying to get her attention he’s about as subtle as a brick.

I think this is my favourite image of the day I just love the way the Woodpigeon is trying to keep its balance while trying to land on the fence and failing miserably.

Greylag Goose. Its wing looks a bit tatty.

This Crow is having a meal of something.

These goslings will probably be geese by now 😊

Well, if it’s having a nap so am I.

This one was spooked by a Crow and flew out of a bush and landed on the grass.

It flew up on to the branch.

And had a look around

Then flew into another bush out of sight.

Wren.

Another very local walk

 Around the village again to see what was about.

This Roe Deer came quite close.

Chiffchaff.

There were two and it started to display.

It was great to watch.

Wren. I have no idea how it is clinging on sideways.

Woodpigeon.

Four Hares were in one of the fields but too far away.

Snow on the ground

 These images, and there are a lot of them, were taken ten days ago when we had a little bit of snow on the ground. By the afternoon, when I went around the village again, it had nearly all gone.

This young Row Buck was on the wrong side of the fence to its mates.

He was panicking a little.

I did see him manage to get over the fence at the third attempt.

This Mistle Thrush seemed to be guarding this mole hill from allcomers.

Yet another Mistle Thrush on a post there were quite a few around.

There was a mixed flock of Thrushes and this Redwing is my favourite image of the day.

I think I mentioned in a previous Blog that she seems to have a favourite tree here she is sitting in it.

Treecreeper. 

I have seen two Treecreeper but whether they are a pair I don’t know.

This one has found what looks like an ant to eat.

A couple of Curlew.

As I said earlier the snow had nearly all gone when I went out later. The light had all but gone too and I was just about to leave when this Hare ran across the field.

And stopped in front of me.
