Norfolk part five

 A cracking day out at the National Trust Felbrigg Hall and Gardens with two Hummingbird Hawk-moths photographed and other insects and Butterflies seen and photographed. The weather was great so we spent more time in the garden than in the hall itself. Back at the cottage I used a 500mm lens to get some shots of Purple Hairstreak Butterflies high up in an Oak tree.

Flying over the hall was a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III.

In and around the village

 I stayed relatively local once again yesterday (27^th) to see what was about and found my first Shieldbugs of the year. Here’s what else I saw.

Redwing.

Wren.

One of three Shieldbugs I found trouble is I only had my 500mm lens with me.

A second Shieldbug. I didn’t get any of the third one it was too well hidden in the gorse.

Pink Feet (I think) flying in V formation.

This Kestrel was against the light and flying too quickly to get a decent shot.

G-KNEK was flying from Scunthorpe to Newcastle when it flew above me.

This was taken on the 26^th at Burdon Moor. I was alerted to its presence by the noise some Crows were making. At first when I saw the colour I thought “get in it’s a fox” but sadly not. Now I’m a cat lover but I hope this is the first and last time I see a cat at Burdon Moor otherwise the ground nesting birds are likely to be hit.

Scotland part one

07.05.22 A couple of weeks ago we had a few days in Scotland staying in a cottage in a small place called Lettoch which is just outside Pitlochry. It’s a place we have stayed in many times before and will definitely stay there again. Here is day one of our stay and all of the images were shot around the cottage.

This plane flew down the valley at the same height as the cottage it was so close, I haven’t had to crop the image (300mm lens).
