More from the Durham Dales last month.

Call of nature.

Common Sandpiper.

Not the best images of a Cuckoo you will see but the best I could get.

Pied Wagtail catching flies.

Sand Martins trying to do the same.

Local

Some images of birds from around the village at the end of last month.

This Little Owl was enjoying the early morning sun (I’ve been back a few times over the past weeks and have not seen it again).

It looks as though it has been up all night.

Something disturbed it.

And it flew

To a nearby tree.

It jumped from one branch to another.

It kept looking down into a bush.

Then decided to investigate.

Then up popped a Thrush.

This Red Kite was also enjoying the early morning sun.

Until something disturbed it too.

And it flew off.

This Wren was looking for insects in some Ivy and along a wall.
