…new sites for Little Owls a few days ago. The first was in a barn the second was in some old farm machinery less than a quarter of a mile away from the first. The second one was far to far away to get any decent pictures but it is always nice to see them. A pair of Lapwing seemed to be checking out one of the fields which hopefully is a good sign.
The first Little Owl I came across.
The second Little Owl was in what looked like an old hopper.
In hindsight I should have stayed where I was but I tried
to get a bit closer and it flew off into the back of an old truck and I didn’t
see it again.
A Wren which I heard at first then it popped up right
in front of me.
Lapwing.
They were putting on quite a display.
