…part one.
This Goosander was on the River Tummel.
Unfortunately, a dog walker let his dog get too close to the side of the river and it spooked the young ones, this one got onto its mothers back…
…and the rest tried to follow its lead.
They eventually swam away from bank side to a safer distance. She looks as though she is shaking her head in annoyance.
Walking along the River Braan, we came across a pair of Dippers feeding young ones. They were flying up the Black Linn Falls to their nest site. I thought I would try some flight shots.
Here the Dipper is coming out of the water with insect larvae.
We were walking through a wood when my wife saw this female Oil Beetle on the ground.
This one was well over an inch long.
Just a little further along the same path we came across this Dor or Dung Beetle.
It wasn’t quite as big as the Oil Bug but it was big enough.
Song Thrush with what looks like a juicy Slug for lunch.
We were having a picnic and this Robin was looking for any dropped crumbs but it was also catching insects…
…and this is why.
Treecreeper.
Pipit. I thought at first Meadow however, its beak looks to dark and now I’m not sure.
I don’t normally take pictures of birds on feeders but this Great Spotted Woodpecker was in the garden nearly every day. The feeders are just outside the window so I thought it would be rude not to take his picture.
Female Siskin waiting her turn to get at the nuts.
Male Siskin doing the same.
This Roe Deer was in the field next to the cottage nearly every day.
