Twizell Woods part one

18.05.22 (still way behind) A visit to Twizell Woods for Broad-bodied Chaser did not disappoint. There were loads of other insects and bugs too so I made the most of it hence part one and two.  I know I wright this every time but if I have any identification wrong, please correct me.

A male was patrolling the ponds and obligingly posed for me.

This newly emerged chaser literally landed right in front of me and I could not resist.

Sedge Warbler

18.05.22 There were a few Sedge Warbler at Burdon Moor and two of them were showing very well.

One of them was singing from the top of some Hawthorn trees.

The other from a fence post.

I tried a few flight shots.

At one point the breeze was so strong it was nearly blown of the post but it kept on singing.

Tawny & Deer

12.05.22 Perhaps one of the most photographed nest boxes in the area at the moment and a cracking Roe Deer which was, at first, so close it was almost too close.

Tawny Owl in its box and while I was there this is where it stayed.

The next few images of the Roe Deer have not been cropped at all this is how they came out of the camera.

She looks heavily pregnant to me.

Tawny Owl checking the Row Deer out as it walked under its box.

Nuthatch.

Male Bullfinch. Once again uncropped.
