Twizell Woods part two

18.05.22 Butterflies, Micro Moths, Spiders and more made for a canny afternoon at Twizell Woods. It goes without saying about the identification.

Orange-tip Butterfly.

Comma butterfly.

Green-veined White Butterfly.

Unidentified Micro Moths mating.

Another unidentified Micro Moth.

Longhorn Moth.

And another Longhorn Moth.

Caterpillar.

Dark-edged Bee-fly hovering.

A fairly gruesome (but fascinating) site to see was this Empid Fly eating a Hoverfly.

Female German Scorpionfly.

Eristalis sp. of Hoverfly.

First there was one Wolf Spider on this log.

Then two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

Then back to four.

The only bird I took a picture of was this Treecreeper with a beak full of insects.
