A cracking night

29.06.22 A great night out last night with three Little Owl a Barn Owl and loads of Brown Hare.

Little Owl looking for something.

This one was happy to pose for the camera.

As was this one.

I was hidden by a wall so this Brown Hare came quite close.

This Barn Owl landed on the post right in front of me unfortunately I had all the wrong settings on the camera at the time.

It was always distant while it was hunting.

Two Quarries

23.06.22 Two quarries Bishop Middleham and Wingate. The former for Northern and Brown Argus butterflies and of course Orchids I’m not sure I managed to find the Northern variety though. The latter for Marbled White butterflies. The sun was shining so it was difficult to get the butterflies at rest however I did manage a few shots.

Dark Green Fritillary a nice surprise at Bishop Middleham.

After Twizell I went to Chester-le-Street looking for White-letter Hairstreak butterflies none were to be seen but I did get a Shieldbug and Burnet moths.

Believe it or not there is a moth here. I only knew it was there because it flew past me and I saw it land. My guess is it is a Carpet of some description.
